What to do first
Ensure a medical professional pronounces death (hospital/hospice; call 911 if unexpected).
Contact a licensed funeral director to collect the body from the hospital, home, or medical examiner/coroner's office and advise next steps: Br. Haroon Firdousi — 815-549-9400.
Gather ID and any pre-need documents (cemetery plot, will, power of attorney).
Choose the masjid and cemetery; the family coordinates with the funeral home.
